Anne Hager
I am a Graham County native who, after living in other areas, returned to the County upon retirement several years ago. Throughout the last few years my husband and I have been actively involved in activities related to economic and beautification issues both within the County as well as the Towns within the County. I earned a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Louisville. I spent almost thirty (30) years in governmental service, specifically Program Analysis and Planning. My vision is to see the County become more self-sufficient and provide increased economic opportunities for all residents, especially our youth.

John B. Colwell
John Colwell’s whole life has been centered on one theme, “home”. As the current chairman of REVVED UP, John works daily to provide a better home, quality of life, and hometown for all of his friends, neighbors, and everyone who lives in an around the Town of Robbinsville, NC. He also operates an independent design firm, CADCo, providing plans for local organizations, public spaces, and home plans for area residents and development. Invested in the “uptown” business district, the Colwells are currently renovating one of the historic Main Street buildings where they hope to open a small bed & breakfast/design studio in the near future.
Throughout the bulk of John’s professional career, he has owned and operated three companies; John’s Building Company, Inc., J.C. Development Company, Inc., and JBC Realty Company. As an award-winning design builder, John has designed well over a hundred homes and his company built over sixty of his plans. As a property developer, John has designed over twenty properties and his development company completed eight of his designs. As a real estate broker, John supervised a staff of eight agents, was among the top ten producing agents in his county, and created a personal promotion advertising campaign that nearly quadrupled his sales volume in a two to three year period.
Other professional accomplishments include: teaching and construction related work in remote locations. John spent three and half years leading motorcycle safety courses at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte (and others). He also spent a year and a half as a high school drafting teacher using AutoCAD for engineering and architecture classes. For nearly a year in 2001, John supervised a construction crew at the South Pole in Antarctica working on a new 240,000 square foot research station there. And for several months, he was construction assistant on a million dollar residence in the Scarborough Hills overlooking Sumner Bay in New Zealand.
John has always had a penchant for providing the best quality and most effective living plans while working within his client’s budgets. This carries through to initiating projects for the revitalization of Robbinsville that can give the “biggest bang for the buck”.
John is in love with his beautiful wife, Mila, who is loved by everyone who knows her. She is currently working as a lead teacher at the Snowbird Child Development Center in Robbinsville. He has one son, John D., who is the Regional Customer Care & Inspections Officer for Avolta (a solar energy company) in Charlotte, NC. John’s son also performs stand-up comedy and is a tour guide for “The Funny Bus” in Charlotte.
Besides his wife and son, John loves the mountains, traveling (he has been to 42 US states, and 14 countries on six continents around the world), motorcycles, creative writing, adventure, scuba diving, public speaking, and people.
John’s father once told him, “I never met a smart man who thought he was smart, because the more you learn; the more you realize how little you know.”
